PSG coach Galtier arrested on racism and islamophobia claims

 The manager of Paris Saint Germain (PSG) Christophe Galtier was arrested along with his son. Christophe Galtier joined PSG in 2022. He was arrested on Friday in Nice, France for an investigation into racism and islamophobia claims.

The Qatari-owned club gave no statement or arguments on that matter yet.

According to a leaked email from the director of football Julien Fournier, Fournier claims on Galtier of saying there were “too many black and Muslim players” on the club’s squad.

“Galtier told me that there is a need in the city that the black and Muslims should not have in the team.

Moreover, he told me that he does not want too many Muslims on the team. He wants to limit the number of Muslims in a team.

He added about his squad that the half team goes to the mosque on Friday and the other players are black.

Although, in April after the investigation, the lawyer Frenchman said that he felt hurt by the claim.

Galtier said to his lawyer that he can start his case without any delay. Because it is very important to clear himself as soon as possible.

The PSG coach start a defamation suit himself against Fournier and the journalist who published his claims.

Due to the hard work of Galtier, PSG was able to get the French league title. But Marseille defeat PSG in the Champions League and the French Cup this season.

PSG is now talking with Luis Enrique about the replacement of Galtier. While one year is left on his contract yet.
